Neural networks in design
Neural networks do not replace designers, but help them in their work.
In recent years, neural networks have surged into the world of design—from generating images and text to automating routine tasks. For many designers, this has become a challenge. In reality, it’s not the end of the profession, but its evolution. Neural networks such as Midjourney , DALL·E , Runway, or ChatGPT help quickly create references, explore stylistic solutions, generate copy, design presentations, and accelerate ideas at the concept stage. They are not a replacement for designers but a powerful assistant that shortens the time between “thought” and “done.” What they can already do: Generate prototypes of logos, interfaces, and illustrations Create unique backgrounds, textures, and post‑processing effects Write copy, naming, and even marketplace descriptions Assist in choosing colors, composition, and visual tone Designer ≠ generation button Artificial intelligence does not understand emotions, context, or business goals. It is the designer who decides how to use the neural network: as a tool, not as a replacement. In the future, those who can combine creativity and technology will win. Here’s a curated list of neural networks for design work: 1. Midjourney Purpose : generating illustrations, concepts, mood boards, references How it helps : you input a prompt—you get visuals in the desired style (realism, pixel art, retro, fashion, sci‑fi, etc.) Example : “space city in Ghibli style” → 4 ready variations in a minute 2. DALL·E (by OpenAI) Purpose : image generation + on‑request editing (inpainting) How it helps : you can change parts of the image, add objects, erase background, and expand the composition Example : remove a chair, add a cup, change the background to a sunset 3. ChatGPT (design mode) Purpose : copy, UX writing, ideas, naming, scenarios, page structures How it helps : quickly writes headlines, descriptions, CTA options, brand names, UI hints Example : “Come up with a name for a food‑delivery service in a minimalist style” 4. Uizard Purpose : generating interfaces from text or sketches How it helps : you describe what you need (“landing page for a freelance designer”), and you receive a UI draft with sections and buttons Example : perfect for fast concepts and MVPs 5. Remove.bg / Cleanup.pictures / Clipdrop Purpose : background removal, object removal, image cleanup How it helps : cuts out an object, erases stray spots, logos, text in seconds Example : ideal for product cards, presentations, and slides
